FAQ Here are the answers to the questions that most clients want to know before deciding if we are the right pet care company to meet their needs.

FAQ – What areas do you service?

We are currently accepting new clients who are located no more than 8 miles from our home base. This typically includes:

  • All of Mooresville, NC 28115
  • All of Langtree Road in Mooresville, NC 28117
  • Brawley School Road as far as Harbor Point/Canvasback Road in Mooresville, NC 28117
  • Hwy 150 (River Road) as far as Morrison Plantation in Mooresville, NC 28117
  • Cornelius Road as far as Sister’s Cove in Mooresville, NC 28117
  • Most of Hwy 115 and Hwy 21 in Mooresville, NC
  • In Cornelius all areas east of the Diverging Diamond Intersection (DDI)
  • Most of Davidson including downtown, areas on Rocky River Road and Shiloh Church Road

FAQ – How do I get started?

After you contact us we will e-mail our welcome package to you. We will also send you portal instructions to activate your account in our software, Time to Pet.

  • After you have completed the necessary forms and client registration in Time to Pet we will schedule a time for your free consultation visit.  This meeting is essential for you and your pets to decide if we are a good fit for your needs.

On the day of our free new client consulation visit we will:

  • meet you and your pets
  • answer any questions you have
  • sign off on our agreement
  • collect necessary paperwork
  • collect two keys to your home

 


 FAQ – What services do you offer and how much does it cost?

1.      Consultation/Meet and Greet Visit       30 to 45 minutes        No Charge

  • This visit is required before we can begin services.
  • There is never a charge for the first consultation visit.
  • If you are not able to provide signed forms, two keys and payment for your first services on this visit we do charge for the 2nd visit at a rate of $20.00.
  • If you move, get your locks re-keyed, acquire additional pets or make significant changes in your care instructions or otherwise require an additional consultation visit we charge $20 for an additional consultation visit.

2.     Dog Walking / Potty Break Visits          30 Minute Visit          $22.00       

  • These visits are 30 minutes in duration and are designed to give your dog(s) an opportunity to go outside to potty and get fresh air and exercise.
  • We will walk your dog(s) on a leash in your neighborhood or play with him in your fenced in yard.
  • If weather does not permit your dog(s) and us to stay outside for the entire visit we will complete the visit inside.We can brush her, play nose work games, practice his skills or simply cuddle and be a comforting presence.
  • When walking we walk up to two medium to large dogs from the same household at the same time or up to three tiny dogs from the same household at the same time (provided they are trained to walk on a loose leash).
  • If more than 30 minutes is required we charge an additional $5.00 per 15 minutes.
  • Every visit includes a handwritten “report card” and an email or text message to let you know how the visit went.

3.    Vacation Pet Sitting                  $22.00 to $30.00 per Visit

  • $22.00          25 to 30 minutes for up to two pets
  • $25.00          35 to 40 minutes for up to four pets
  • $30.00          45 to 50 minutes for up to six pets
  • Our visits include feeding your cats, dogs, fish, birds or small caged pets.
  • Scooping your cats’ litter boxes and/or picking up the poop your dog left outside while we were there on the visit.
  • We play with your pets, wash their food and water bowls, refresh their water and give them the treats you have left for them.
  • Our visit gives your home that ” lived in” look.
  • We open or close your drapes, turn your lights on or off, turn your television or radio on or off, bring in your newspapers and mail, roll your garbage and recycle bins to the curb on pick up day and return them to their spots afterwards
  • We water a modest number of houseplants to keep them going, but we don’t promise to be master gardeners!

We charge $22 per visit for one to two pets.  We charge $25 per visit for three to four pets. We charge $30.00 per visit for five or six pets. If you have more than six pets we need to discuss services and fees on the phone prior to our free consultation visit. While in your home for other pets we are happy to take care of one or two fish tanks for no additional fee.

  • We visit households with dogs that do not have access to a doggy door a minimum of three visits per 24 hours.
  • We visit households with dogs that have access to a doggy door a minimum of two visits per 24 hours.
  • We visit households with cats, birds, fish and small caged pets a minimum of one visit per 24 hours.
  • Every visit includes an email  to let you know how the visit went.

4.     Pet Taxi Services      10 miles to or from your home                   $22.00 each way

  • We offer safe pet transport for your dog or cat to the veterinarian or groomer and return home. 
  • For the safety of your dog we either crate your dog in our wire crate or your hard molded plastic crate.  We strap down the crate in the cargo area of one of our SUVs.  The other alternative is to affix your dog’s leash and harness to the cargo hold in the cargo area of one of our SUVs. If we use this alternative we must be able to hook the leash to the back of the harness, not under the neck to assure your dog does not experience an injury
  • We ask that you get your cat comfortable with going inside her carrier for several days prior to any transport. We are happy to recommend methods to enhance your cats’ comfort level with his carrier. All pets must wear collars with identification and current rabies tags during transport.
  • Every transport includes a handwritten “report card” and email or text message to let you know how the transport went.

 FAQ – What discounts do you offer?

  • 10% for active duty, reserve and retired military.  Show ID.  10% for  veterans.  Show DD 214.
  • For those who have adopted a pet within the last 90 days.  Show us the adoption papers from the county shelter or 501 (c)(3) rescue organization.

We do not offer services for farm animals, reptiles, rodents or animals kept for breeding purposes.

 


FAQ – How many pet sitting visits per day will you make to my home?

Dogs 

  • For dogs without access to a doggie door and securely fenced yard we make a minimum of three (3) visits per day.  If you need additional visits we are happy to provide them.
  • For dogs with access to a doggie door and securely fenced yard we make a minimum of  two (2) visits per day.  If you need additional visits we are happy to provide them.
  • For dogs that remain out of doors during the daytime without access to a doggy door, we will provide services if the yard is securely fenced and the dogs are taken inside at night.  We require a minimum of two (2) visits per day.
  • We reserve the right to add a third visit if we deem weather conditions are too severe to remain outside or if for any reason we believe the dogs are not safe outside unsupervised.  

Cats, Birds, Fish and Small Caged Pets

  • For cats, birds, fish and small caged pets we make a minimum of one visit per day.  If your pets need additional visits we are happy to provide them at our regular rates..
  • We strongly encourage you to have all cats stay inside 24/7 unless you have a catio. We will service households with cat doors but caution you about how unsafe this practice is for cats.  
  • If you feed stray or feral cats, we will provide services provided you have made suitable shelters for ferals in the cold weather months and provided the cats have shade in the hot weather months. 

 


FAQ – How do I pay for service?

  • Automated Clearing House (ACH) bank transfer via a convenient link from your invoice

Payment is due upon receipt of your invoice prior to the start of each series of out of town pet sitting visits, at the beginning of the week or month for dog walking services and prior to any pet transports.

FAQ – What will you do if my pet becomes ill or injured?

  • We will make an immediate assessment based on the knowledge we gained from Pet Tech Pet Saver and render Pet First Aid.
  • We will contact you and report our findings.
  • If we are not able to reach you we will contact your emergency backup.
  • If we are not able to contact your emergency backup, we will use our judgement regarding seeking veterinary assessment and treatment.
  • You are responsible for the cost of all veterinary assessment, evaluation and treatment services.
  • In an extreme emergency we reserve the right to proceed to the veterinary clinic or hospital prior to contacting you.
